Position Summary:

Are you interested in working for UDRI, a national leader in scientific and engineering research, serving government, industry and nonprofit customers? Our sustainment division invites qualified candidates to apply for our Quality Specialist opening supporting additive manufacturing and other cutting edge advanced manufacturing technologies! This is a full time benefit eligible position that offers health, dental and vision insurance, retirement, disability, tuition assistance, vacation/sick accrual and holiday pay.

This position will support our Quality Management System (QMS) and support Quality Engineers in monitoring of functions for compliance to both internal and external requirements, supporting corrective actions, process discipline, and quality metrics improvement. Additionally, the job will entail 1) supporting continued development, implementation, and maintenance of the QMS for a low volume, high mix advanced manufacturing environment at UDRI and 2) supporting development of process documentation for use both by UDRI and by the USAF. Support of advanced manufacturing programs for sustainment activities is integral to this enterprise.

Minimum Qualifications:

P1
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• A minimum of 1 years directly related experience supporting manufacturing, inspection, quality control or quality system development/management in a manufacturing environment.
• Organizational skills.
• Experience working with Microsoft Office products.
• Successful collaboration within a multi-disciplinary team.
• Effective verbal communication skills with team members at all levels.
• Ability to relate to, and motivate work associates in the spirit of collaboration, relative to correcting mistakes and preventing them in the future.
• Attention to detail.
• Due to requirements of our research contracts with the U.S. federal government, candidates for this position must be a U.S. Citizen.
P2
• All minimum qualifications listed under P1
• A minimum of 3 years directly related experience supporting manufacturing, inspection, quality control or quality system development/management in a manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

• ERP or MRP software experience.
• Experience working with document publication/control systems.
• Experience working in an ISO9001 certified environment.
• Experience working with quality systems such Non-conformance systems.
• Experience performing floor audits.
• ISO9001 internal auditor experience.
• Experience working with Additive manufacturing or special processes.
• Project management experience.
• Experience with UDRI procedures and processes.
• Familiarity with lean concepts in a manufacturing environment (5S, Lean, Six Sigma, etc.).
