The Catholic Education Technologist is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the e-learning course management system, as well as supporting IPI’s general technology needs. This includes website and database development, information systems management, and tech support management. This position requires strong technical expertise.
These duties may include:
Managing the VLCFF website, ensuring high availability and performance.
Improving existing and developing new features on a custom-built LMS website.
Overseeing MySQL database administration, optimization, and troubleshooting.
Supporting internal and external users with IT-related issues.
Ensuring website security, compliance, and data integrity in coordination with the University's IT group.
Collaborating with faculty, staff, and external partners to enhance the user experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's of Science in Information Systems or related field OR 3 plus years of equivalent experience.
Web Development: Strong proficiency in PHP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and MySQL.
Database Management: Experience managing MySQL databases and writing queries.
Problem-Solving: Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues effectively.
User Support: Experience providing technical support to non-technical users.
Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Ability and willingness to understand Catholic faith formation and online education.

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

Bachelor's of Science in computer science or related field or 7 years equivalent experience.
Knowledge of LMS systems or e-learning platforms.
Experience in UI/UX design for improving user experience.
Familiarity with API integrations, payment gateways, and third-party software.
Familiarity with the Hannon Hill Cascade CMS (or willingness to learn).
Desire to embody Catholic and Marianist traditions exhibiting public conduct and ministerial practices reflective of the teaching of the Catholic Church.
Ability to promote inclusive excellence in the workplace.
